“If you can dream it, you can do it.”  Walt Disney

Each year in January I feel as if I’m gifted a brand new blank canvas.  There is something very exciting, and at the same time very daunting, about a blank canvas.  I envision how beautiful it will look when complete, but also recognize all of the labor and steps required to paint that masterpiece.  With this new canvas in hand I realize that I can design it any way I want.  I can start throwing paint on it in no particular order and see if the end result is something that I like.  Or I can start designing and plotting it out to become something that will be a masterpiece.  Despite the best of designs in the beginning, there will be timesramona-beach-1 I must adjust some aspect.  I will need to tweak here and there to get the outcome I envision.  Without the original design, I will not perceive when adjustments need to happen.  My vision for this canvas guides my paint strokes.  In the end, the masterpiece will be something that I and others can admire for years.

As with a canvas, so is your new year.  What do you envision it will look like?  On December 31, 2017, will you look at your year with a swell of pride or will you look at it with regret?  Only you can determine that and it starts with the vision and the design.  “Without a vision, people perish.”, as the Bible states.

I encourage you to adopt a motto or word for your new year which represents your vision for that 365-day chunk of your life.  I have done this for several years and it’s amazing how appropriate those words or phrases have been.  There is great power in “intention.”  If you are challenged coming up with a vision that inspires you, please consider joining our retreat to help you clarify your dreams.  We would love to help you create your best year yet!  It really is up to you! birdcard
